Fishing

 

After setting anchor close to the reef, get your fishing liner out and bait them up with the help of your guide who will teach you the basics of fishing with a simple line and a sharp hook. Enjoy stunning views of the setting sun until you make your catch.

If you are lucky enough to bring back a sizable catch, a meal featuring the fruits of your labor will be prepared by the chefs at the hotel. You and your friends also can have the fish with BBQ.



Snorkeling 



The abundance of marine life is a source of attraction for not only diving enthusiasts but also for those passionate about snorkeling. Around 70 different species of colorful coral reefs make up the flora of this underwater city with more than 700 species of fishes and other aqua marine life taking the role of the fauna.

Important & Useful Information

Please note that the guest house currently only accepts US Dollars, Euros or British Pounds in cash from Tourists with tourist visa on their passport and Maldivian Ruffiya from locals & work permit holders OR wire transfer to our bank account or through our Online Payment Gateway provided by Paypal.

Mathiveri Island doesn't have a bank or any ATM machines at the moment so it's wise to bring some Extra cash on hand. You may want to buy some souvenirs or pay for the Extra bills, & you may want to give some tips to the staff for their excellent services. Our extra bills & room bills payments are also to be settled in cash for the moment.

Since Maldives is a 100% Muslim country there are certain policies in tourism that is enforced by the Government of the Maldives to the local inhabited islands which are: we cannot serve you any alcoholic beverage here at Mathiveri Island but can provide you alternative means of like a trip to a nearby resort or safari & bikini’s or similar wears at Mathiveri beaches is prohibited but we offer you daily sandbank, desert island or eco village trips where these restrictions does not apply.

Dress code: Guests are welcome to wear bikinis or swimsuits at the sand bank or desert Island or at the sea, although if guests want to wear swim suits at Mathiveri Island or any inhabited island one piece swim suit can be worn with a sarong or pair of shorts & if it's a Bikini (two pieces) is strictly prohibited. If you prefer to wear a bikini you must cover yourself from your neck to your thighs. ( like wear a top/t-shirt and shorts or sarong)
